The PEDLAR Team Update ~ September Newsletter

Welcome To September

August flew by and with that we say goodbye to the action packed times of summer & back to the quiet town of Grand Bend. This summer was certainly a great one weather wise and I'm sure the businesses are happy about that! The fun is not over as September has been the nicest month the past couple years so hopefully we can get a repeat for the locals to enjoy. Many shops and local business stay open for September, of course weather depending, so make sure you get out and enjoy our beautiful town!

For The PEDLAR Team it is time to get things ready for the fall market as it starts as soon as Labor Day weekend is done!

BANK OF CANADA Reassessing Mortgage Rates Start Of September

Lots of talk around the Bank of Canada reassessing the mortgage interest rates with people suggesting reducing and others to remain, at the current rate. Most people in the industry believe if a rate cut is not decided during September that a rate cut will likely happen the following meeting in October or December.

Three Major Reasons Against Cutting the Rates In September:
- Private sector job creation in 2019 is the strongest since 2011
- Core inflation is right on the central bank's target
- Risks to the housing sector have faded with sales bouncing back strongly in recent months across the country

Many influences go in to the decision from both internal and external issues. Internally looking at our housing market, job growth, private/corporate investments, and much more. Externally they are looking at global affairs such as trade tariffs from the USA on certain products, the current China/USA trade tensions are playing a large part of the external factors.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page and we will post the result from September 4th meeting when they are released.

Another Year Of Sunset Concert Series

Big thanks goes out to Glen Baillie and the whole team that comes together to put these amazing concerts on. The Rotary Club worked very hard in raising money to put up a stage on the beach that has become a focal point of our community. All this hard worked has been noticed by the London Free Press so find a link below to the article. This is simply one of many events that go on in our community thanks to the awesome volunteers behind them. We are thankful for them all!
